OUR CONSOLATION IN CHRIST

The Lord God created us in other to have fellowship with us. We read in Genesis that at the cool of the day in the Garden of Eden, he would come to his created beings for fellowship. He endowed his created beings with their freewill and wanted them to exercise their free will for as much as he did not want them to be robots. Also his created beings were to live eternally if they chose the way to the tree of life. Unfortunately they chose the way of death, the tree of knowledge good and evil. And the death passed on to all. The bible says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Job saw man’s trouble from the beginning and wrote of it.

(Job 14:1-2) Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.

Nevertheless there is a consolation for us if we continue and abide in Christ Jesus our Lord. Apostle Paul wrote:

(Philippines 2:1) If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

We are consoled and our hearts shall not fail. (Psalm 73:26) My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.

The Holy Spirit of God comforts us in this present world that belongs to Satan. This comfort comes only if we abide in Christ. If you abide in me and my words abide if you…..

(John 14:16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

He is not only a comforter but also teaches us the deep things of God if we make ourselves available and open for the leading of his spirit.

(John 14:26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you

In tribulations of this world, again God is our comfort and a strong tower.

(2 Corinthians 1:3-4) Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

We also have this assurance that as this present world isn’t our home, when we sleep in the Lord, at the last trump, we shall arise. There is a resurrection and we shall be changed.

(1 Thessalonians 4:14-18) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words

These are comforting words to our soul if we continue in Christ Jesus. May we be comforted brothers and sisters of like precious faith.

Shalom
